Installation, Comfort Floor The aluminium covered EPS-plates are 600 x 1200 mm and consist of 8 parts á 300 x 300 mm. The plates can be used in full size or in pieces. The plates are cut with a carpet knife.
Installation, Comfort Floor Soft strip, Corner plates and Rail plates
Installation, Comfort Floor Adjustment plate
Installation, Comfort Floor The heat circuit starts at the perimeter wall and the pipes are laid parallel to the wall. This gives most heat efficiency where it is most needed. A ø16-17 mm PE-X or composite pipe will fit into the rail.
Installation, Comfort Floor The Corner plate enables a flexible piping close to the heat central. The more pipes, the more contact the 4350 screed has to the pipes through the geotextile, but the contact with the aluminium decreases in the same portion. The heat transfer per area stays practically unchanged.
Installation, Comfort Floor The pipe turns at the Corner plate, after which it returns into the Rail plate. Also distribution pipes are easily assembled on the corner plate.Fixing with Comfort Clamps.
Comfort Floor. Flexible piping. Columns, sewers etc. are easily rounded by replacing a needed amount of 300x300 modules with Adjustment plate. At the picture the heat need is low under the cupboard, thus a spare pipe distance, c/c 300 (every second rail).
Comfort Floor. Piping at bevelled or rounded walls. The Comfort Floor system is easy to adjust to bevelled or rounded walls.
Comfort Floor. A flat and even heat distributing plane The top of the pipes are at the same level as the upper surface of the Rail plates.
Comfort Floor. Geotextile. The Geotextile separates the heat system from the Comfort Floor plate, whereas heat movements kan happen freely without abbrating pipes or cause cracks. At the picture also the glass fibre net is installed.
Pumping of the Floor 4350 screed.Upto 700 m²/day. The fiber reinforced Floor 4350 screed is best suitable for the Comfort Floor system. The work is performed by certified Flooring Contractors.
Comfort Floor. Wobbling . The fresh screed is wobbled. Despite small unevenesses in the substrate the upper surface will be completely flat and forms an even and rigid base for any conventional floor covering.
Comfort Floor. Only 25 mm screed. The cementitious maxit Floor screed fits any desired floor covering (impact sound, strength, flatness, chemical compability, low shrinkage).
Comfort Floor. Connecting the heat. The heat can be connected already before and during pumping. No other heat equipment is needed on the building site. If available, the final heat source can be used, else a temporary heater, which can be connected immidiately. A heat distribution inside the floor uses much of the energy for evaporating water. Thus the ventilation carries out huge amounts of building moisture which remarkably shortens the needed drying time. The energy from a standard heater fan does heat the air, but leaves the building rather dry, wasting much energy. Additionally, fans are always in the way on the building site.
Comfort Floor. Summary of building time advantages: • Low super construction (build-up-hight) • Light (compare 80 mm concrete 200 kg/m²). Influences on slabs, beams, columns and foundations. • Impact sound OK with 220-265 mm hollow core slab. • No curving as with concrete or traditional screeds. Fast drying • No cutting of plaster boards. • Pipes mainly c/c 300. Fast pipe installation, standing. • Heating and drying out of structures during the building time • A FLAT FLOOR AND THE HEATING SYSTEM – INSTALLED!
Comfort Floor. Heat reaction time. Comfort Floor: 40 min Water temperature Comfortable floor temperature 80 mm concrete: 8 h When the sun at the spring shines through the window, the heat transfer should react rapidly on the signal from the termostate. The same case counts for the evening when the sun sets and the floor needs to start warming immidiately. A massive system is slow, always behind and wastes energy. The Comfort Floor system is super fast.
Comfort Floor. Heat reaction time. Spring, afternoon. The sun radiation keeps the termostate in OFF-position. The earth is always colder. The (massive) slab cools down.
Comfort Floor. Heat reaction time. 5 o’clock, afternoon. Home from work. The sun sets – cold outdoor! Draught from the window onto the floor. When the termostate clicks ON, the house owner already freezes.
Comfort Floor. Heat reaction time. 7 o’clock, evening. The hot water has kept heating the massive slab, but first now the slab starts giving any heat to the room. The temperature has dropped further. The owner sees that the termostate shows ”21°C” but the termometer shows 17°C only.He raises the termostate to 25°C!
Comfort Floor. Heat reaction time. 10 o’clock. Bed time. Finally the heat has come, and keeps coming and coming .... The termostate doesn’t cut the water flow, the slab is hot, too hot to sleep – he opens the window!
Comfort Floor. Heat reaction time. For the rest of the winter, the termostate will not cut the heating. The heating runs for full and the window lets most of it out! Most floor heating users use the window as a temperature regulator – throughout the winter if the slab is too massive and slow reacting.
Comfort Floor. Heat distribution. With floor heating the heat is where the human beings are. The temparature at the perimeter wall and ceiling is fairly low (low DT to the outdoor air).
Radiators. Heat distribution. With radiators the heat raises up along the perimeter wall and causes a high DT over the perimeter wall and ceiling.
Comfort Floor. Fast reacting and energy saving: • A really stable indoor temperature despite fast changes in the outdoor temperature. • The floor provides heating room by room when needed – not with a delay of several hours. • End user habits – adjusting the termostate and opening the windows. • The heat is where the human being. On average 2°C lower DT over the perimeter wall and ceiling, -10% in the heating cost. • The low water temperature used in floor heating (compared to radiators) gives a good efficiency in the heat central. For instance a heat pump gives 1 (electricity)+2 (from ground) at 55°C and 1+4 at 35°C, i.e the doubble amount of free energy. • A water borne system enables optional energy sources.

Traditional installation Bad heat distribution, big consumption of pipes and the screed or concrete starts carrying first above the pipes. All mass between the pipes is wasted material and money and also adds the non-desired massivity.

Traditional aluminium systems Traditional systems with straight aluminiums hardly gives any heat at the curving areas. External walls and difficult areas remain cold. Difficult to fix the pipes without distroying the impact sound reduction.
Comfort Floor. Heat distribution plates of aluminium: • Aluminium has a heat leading coefficient l= 237 W/mK which is approx 300 times higher than the l of the screed. The heat is efficiently distributed sidewise before coming up to the floor surface. High heat distribution with a sparse pipe laying as the DT between the average floor temparature and the indoor temperature is higher. A big area with one circuit. Small manifold • A bare foot does not feel temperature differencies at the pipe and between the pipes even with tiled floors. • • No dark stripes in the parquetry due to uneven temperatures.
Comfort Floor. A combined impact sound and heat insulation: • The insulation is a so called elastified EPS, with impact sound reducing properties (low dynamic stiffness). The same insulation separates the heated surface slab from the massive supporting slab. • An impact sound reduction DL'n,w = 25-27 dB fulfills the national standards with any floor covering.
Comfort Floor. Freedom in furnituring • No radiators at the windows. • A big heat emission enables also big windows
Comfort Floor. A dream floor for the end user and installation ease for the building company. • The delivery includes: • Base levelling of substrate if needed. • Soft strips at walls. • Comfort Rail-, Corner and Adustment plates • Pipe clamps • Geotextile • Glass fibre net if needed • Floor 4350 screed • Covering if wished • INSTALLED! In cooperation with the Floor Heating Company the complete Comfort Floor system can be sold and installed as one package.
