  3. Task 3 • National Literacy Trust • Read through the hand out • Discuss with the people on your table • CLASS DISCUSSION – What is your reaction to this information?

  4. Session 2 Reflecting…Task 1 • Look at the group mind map from yesterday’s skills session • Favourite text type? • Why?

  5. Task 2 • Read through the article • Highlight bits that interest you • Write 3 questions that relate to the article • Class question and answer! (House Points!)

  6. Task 3 • Why is it helpful for celebrities to be involved in promoting literacy? • What type of media would you choose to promote literacy? (TV, radio, advertising?) • How might art be a useful way to promote literacy?

  7. Extend your learning… • Carry out some research into different artists. • You can either bring a printed example of the artwork or you can write a short description of that particular artist’s work. • 15 minutes max!

  8. Session 3 Reflecting…Task 1 • It’s time to share the homework that you completed REMEMBER, the aim of the home work is to offer you ideas and inspiration to create your own piece of art work 

  9. Task 2 and 3 • GET WRITING BANNER! 2. Your task is to create a GET WRITING banner to promote writing across the school – use the artwork around you to inspire you in creating your own piece of art 3. Get creative – design your GET WRITING banner
