JANUARY Dates to Remember 4 Deadline for submission of articles for March 2010 issue of ENA Connection. 8 Deadline for submissions for January Statebytes to State Council and Chapter Presidents. (Bi-monthly online publication). 11 Agenda Topics due for the Feb 17, 2010 ENA Board of Directors Meeting. 13 January Statebytes will be e-mailed/available on the State Council and Chapter Web page. 15 Deadline date for submission of abstracts of research or evidenced-based practice projects to be considered for a paper or poster presentation at the 2011 ENA Annual Conference. (www.ena.org/research/abstracts). 15 Deadline for submission to the Academy of Emergency Nursing Fellow, Honorary Fellow and Posthumous Fellow applications. (Accepted via on-line application only). 18 Housing deadline for Leadership Conference 2010. 20 ENA Board of Directors conference call (HOT ISSUES ONLY). 21 Final Board of Directors Reports/materials due for the Feb 17, 2010 ENA Board of Directors Meeting. 31 2009 State/Chapter Annual Report due. Planning ahead…Upcoming Activities Establish or maintain committees such as Education, Trauma Nursing, Pediatrics, Government Affairs, Nursing Practice, Membership, Research, or Institute for Quality and Safety. Plan to conduct at least one (1) continuing education program during the year. Contact ENA Educational Services at 847-460-4123 for information on Contact Hours. Establish a system for the selection of Delegates and Alternate Delegates to the annual General Assembly. Plan for partial or full funding of representatives. Set dates for business meetings, which should be conducted in accord with Robert's Rules of Order. Schedule a meeting immediately prior to the 2010 General Assembly for discussion of proposed resolutions (mailed mid-summer). Plan the election of 2011 officers, which is to take place at a business meeting scheduled prior to the end of October (Officers Reports due October 31, 2010). Set or update publication deadlines for the State Council/Chapter newsletter. Prepare to file IRS Forms directly with the Internal Revenue Service, if necessary. Contact Component Relations at ENA Headquarters for questions. Plan 2011 State/Chapter Elections to be held prior to October 31, 2010 in accord with ENA Procedures.
