Central Eligibility Criteria • Submission of a completeproposal, in English, through the AAL electronic submission system before the deadline (June 30 2011, 17.00 CET) • Consortium composition: min. 3 independent eligible organizations (1 coordinator), from min. 3 different AAL Partner States participating in the Call. Consortium must include at least one eligible: • end-user organization • business partner • SME partner (which can be the business partner) • Size of the consortium: 3 – 10 partners • Duration of the project: 12 – 36 months • Adherence to the specifications for structure and technical details (e.g. page count) given by the proposal submission system.
National Eligibility CriteriaAnnex 8 • Eligible for funding are only organizations that: • Reside in an AAL member country that participates in the Call • Are explicitly included in the national eligibility criteria • Pass the national check for fiscal & financial viability • Annex 8 as part of the call information package • Countries participating in the Call • National eligibility criteria • It is highly recommended - in some countries mandatory - to consult with the AAL National Contact Point (NCP) prior to submission of a proposal!
Characteristics AAL Projects • Aims at ICT-based solutions to identified user needs • Time-to-market perspective of 2 to 3 years after end project • Project total budget: 1 - 7 M€ • Maximum funding from the AAL JP: 3 M€. • Significant involvement (≥ 50%), of industry and business partners, particularly SMEs. • Realistic pilot as integrated parts of the project • Proactive end-user involvement throughout the project • Defined market segment(s), use cases and target group(s) and address the wishes/needs of these specific group(s).
Evaluation Criteria (1) Scoring 1-5 / treshold 3 for each criterion weight Relevance & innovation 1- Objectives of call / adress enabling elements / application areas- Why is solution meeting needs / not on market yet?- Innovative applications//service systems throughout EU Scientific & technical quality 1-Original integrated solutions based on sound S&T concepts, beyond state of the art- Pilot showing impact
Evaluation Criteria (2) • Quality consortium & efficiency of implementation 2- expertise / resources / value network / international value- proactive enduser involvement - SME/industry involvement- workplan / Q-assurance / control / IPR / conflict resolving • Potential impact (QoL end user / market development) 2Quality of Life - added value / market availability - ensure respect for end users rights / ethical issuesMarket development- target high potential market- business model – value chain, business analysis,- creating EU market open interfaces / interoperability / standards
