Objectives • engage in a discussion of the assessment and direction of future graduate student development programs in Canadian universities. • examine the components seen as critical to the development of future faculty in higher education from a graduate student and faculty development perspective. • trouble-shoot some areas of concern in developing the CHET program.

Demographics • Ph.D. Program at University Manitoba. • 545 Ph.D. Students at University. • 466 Full-time; 79 Part-time. • Female = 232 Male = 313 • 33 of 71 (46.5%) CHET students completed survey. • 8 from Medical College. • Two mailings: • October 1999. • December 1999. • Survey
