PuMuKIT: Data structure • Key Element: MultimediaObject (MO),ex:Lecture, lesson, it Contains: • Video assets in different formats or bitrates of the same lecture • Any other linked content, PDFs, PPTs, URLs, etc … • Metadata: Dublin Core + LOM + Other • The MO are grouped in Series. Serie = conference, subject, etc… • Series are grouped into Thematic Channels (sciences, engineering, Campus life, etc…

ARCA project • “Ark” in spanish (A.R.C.A=RSS Aggregator for the Academic Community) • ARCA is a federated metadata management system for multimedia contents. • Main goal: Centralize all the metadata information from available video contents of universities and research centers in order to find lectures from any institution. • In use by the RedIRIS community: http://arca.rediris.es
