Rhythm -The pie analogy • Just remember that the whole note is the basic unit of rhythm on which we base all other rhythmic values. • Each of these values is exactly one half of the next higher value note. • The whole is divided in two to become halves, then divided again to be quarters, then eighths, sixteenths, thirty seconds, sixty fourths, one hundred twenty eighths, ……….
