Learn about how producers (plants), consumers (herbivores, carnivores, omnivores), and decomposers play vital roles in energy flow within ecosystems. Explore examples of each group and understand their contribution to the environment's balance.

Producers • Producers are green plants that get food energy directly from the sun by producing (making) their own food.
Consumers • Consumers are animals that get food energy by consuming (eating) plants or animals. • There are 3 kind of consumers: • Carnivore • Herbivore • Omnivore
Carnivores • A carnivore is an animal that consumes (eats) primarily other animals as a source of food energy.
Herbivores • Herbivores are animals that get food energy from consuming (eating) primarily plants.
Omnivores • Omnivores are animals that get food energy from consuming (eating) both plants and animals.
Decomposers • A decomposer is an organism that feeds on dead plants and animals and on the waste from other organisms.
