Little bit about me: • Went to Edmond Memorial HS • Graduated Valedictorian • Have a BA in Mathematics from OU • Have 3 daughters (Jamie and Bridget fight over who is the favorite ) • Have been teaching for 20 years • 16 of those here at OHS
Course Contents: Systems Quadratics Exponentials and Logarithms Polynomials Radicals and Rationals Conics
A TYPICAL DAY IN CLASS MAY INCLUDE ALL OR PART OF THE FOLLOWING: BELL WORK QUESTIONS ON PREVIOUS ASSIGNMENT NEW LESSON OR CONTINUATION OF PREVIOUS LESSON GROUP WORK GUIDED PRACTICE * No Cell phones * No ear buds unless permission has been granted by teacher
Grading: Grades will be kept on Wengage using simple points I will take at least 3 grades per week Tests will be 100 pts. Other assignment point values will vary based on length of assignment. Grading scale A - F as in Handbook
Required Materials: 3 Ring Binder w/paper Graph paper Pencil Calculator (opt.)
If you bring one of the following items before we have our first test, you will be awarded +10 bonus points on the 1st test only. 1 package of multi colored construction paper 1 large box of tissues 2 pieces of poster board 1 package of colored pencils 1 Ream of Paper
CONSEQUENCES FOR INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR: VERBAL WARNING CALL TO PARENT/GUARDIAN DETENTION REFERRAL TO OFFICE
MAKING UP MISSING ASSIGNMENTS DUE TO ABSENCES OR ACTIVITIES IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT. HIGH SCHOOL POLICY FOR LATE WORK IS THAT THE TEACHER WILL NOT ACCEPT IT AFTER 5 SCHOOL DAYS HAVE PASSED. THIS WILL MAKE GRADING MORE EFFICIENT AND WILL HELP KEEP GRADEBOOK ACCURATE.
