  1. Welcome To Algebra Mrs.Fardous Class expectations

  2. You are required to… • When the bell rings you should be in your assigned seat, homework out, and working on bell work*. OTHER WISE, you will be considered TARDY.

  3. Continue…. • Use the restroom prior to coming to class. Bathroom passes will only be issued for emergencies.

  4. Continue… • YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN LEARNING. You will have homework each night. Always ask questions and get help on materials you do not understand. Don't wait until you feel overwhelmed. When you are absent it is YOUR responsibility to make up homework. It is really difficult to catch up once you are behind. DON'T GET BEHIND!

  5. Respect • Common respect toward each others and the teacher. • Observe one person speaking at a time. Raise your hand and be recognized prior to speaking. • Absolutely no talking during note taking time.

  6. Continue • Water bottles are allowed in the classroom. There will be no eating or drinking other than water.

  7. RED ZONE • This class is a red zone. No cell phones are allowed • If seen no warnings will be given. It will be taking away immediately • Parents will pick it up from the office at the end of the day

  8. Consequences • 1st Offense: Verbal Warning • 2nd Offense: Move to different seat. • 3rd Offense: Parents contacted. 1 • 4th Offense: Parents contacted. 2 meeting • 5th Offense: assign school suspension

  9. Rewards • privileges and reward points will be given based on work ethics and good behavior

  10. Materials needed it • Students will provide with a notebook for daily notes. • 3-ring binder with lined and graph papers • Pencils, Colored pencils, Highlighter, Eraser, Ruler • After school internet access either home or public library

  12. Grading Plan • Formative grade (20%) - This will include homework, quizzes, and in class activities • Summative grade (80%)- This include tests, projects, and major assignments

  13. Homework • Homework will be assigned almost every day and should be done in PENCIL or Pen and it will be checked at the beginning of class. The answers will be available on the blog the next day. • Homework will be checked daily for completeness. Almost 25 total points will be given at the end of the week (5 points each day) • Depending on class participation, there may be time available at the end of class to work on homework.

Homework Continue… • There is no make up for daily homework. • Major assignments or projects should be handed in on the required due date. • The student will receive 10% off every day the assignment is late up to three days after that a zero score will be given for that assignment. NO EXCEPTIONS.

  16. Makeup tests and retakes • In that case of absence, you will have two school calendar days for each period of excused absence to turn in make up work. Stay up to date by checking my blog for assignments. • The student is responsible for arranging with the teacher to make up a test missed for an excused reason. There will be certain scheduled time for test retakes and it will be either during lunch time or after school.

  18. Quizzes and Tests Quizzes will be given every Friday Test will be at the end of every unit, a review day and a guideline always precedes a test. If you miss a test the student will take it the first day he/ she come back.
