  1. Welcometo DEEPER LIFE BIBLE CHURCH SUNDAY SERVICEYear of Full Restoration 29 OCTOBER, 2017

  2. HYMN SIN CAN NEVER ENTER THERE

  3. SIN CAN NEVER ENTER THERE 1. Heaven is a holy place, Filled with glory and with grace Sin can never enter there; All within its gates are pure, From defilement kept secure Sin can never enter there.

  4. Refrain: Sin can never enter there, Sin can never enter there; So if at the judgment bar Sinful spots your soul shall mar, You can never enter there.

  5. SIN CAN NEVER ENTER THERE 2. If you hope to dwell at last, When your life on earth is past, In that home so bright and fair, You must here be cleansed from sin, Have the life of Christ within Sin can never enter there.

  6. Refrain: Sin can never enter there, Sin can never enter there; So if at the judgment bar Sinful spots your soul shall mar, You can never enter there.

  7. SIN CAN NEVER ENTER THERE 3. You may live in sin below, Heaven’s grace refuse to know, But you cannot enter there; It will stop you at the door, Bar you out forevermore Sin can never enter there.

  8. Refrain: Sin can never enter there, Sin can never enter there; So if at the judgment bar Sinful spots your soul shall mar, You can never enter there.

  9. SIN CAN NEVER ENTER THERE 4. If you cling to sin till death, When you draw your latest breath, You will sink in dark despair To the regions of the lost, Thus to prove at awful cost, Sin can never enter there.

  10. END OF HYMN Refrain: Sin can never enter there, Sin can never enter there; So if at the judgment bar Sinful spots your soul shall mar, You can never enter there.

  11. SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES LESSON 667: ISRAEL DEMANDS JUSTICE FROM GIBEAH

  12. LESSON 667: ISRAEL DEMANDS JUSTICE FROM GIBEAH • MEMORY VERSE: “Now therefore deliver us the man, The children of Belia, which are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel’’ (Judges 20:13) • TEXT: Judges 20:1-17

  13. SUMMARY (1) Our previous study focused on perversion in Gibeah: • Christian parents should rebuke sin in their children. • Believers should readily forgive and reconcile with their offenders. • You should rely solely on God’s leading; knowledge and experience alone may fail you. • Like any other sin, God condemns homosexuality and lesbianism though society may allow it. The study of today touches on three points: • The deed of wickedness rehearsed • The determination to avenge the wicked Act • The defence of criminals by the Benjamites

  14. SUMMARY (2) • The deed of wickedness rehearsed (Judges 20:1-7): • To ensure fairness in judgement, Israel decided to listen to both parties involved. • We must act promptly and follow due process to ensure that justice is administered in the Church or elsewhere. • The determination to avenge the wicked act (Judges 20:8:11): • The Israelites were united in the battle against lewdness in the land, even to the point of risking their own lives. Their demand for the justice was fair and just. • Christ’s servants must also have right motives as they deal with sin in the Church. • The defence of criminals by the Benjamites (Judges 20:12-17): • The Benjamites refused the call for justice and mobilised for war in defence of evil. • Christians should speak out against evil in the Church to avoid God’s displeasure

  15. DISCUSSION

  16. QUESTION 1 What was the consequence of Israel’s drift from God at this time? • Proverbs 14:34 • Proverbs 28:13

  17. QUESTION 2 Why did Israel send messengers to the tribe of Benjamin and what does this teach us in the administration of justice? • Proverbs 18:13 • John 7:51

  18. QUESTION 3 What steps must we take when cases of improper conduct are reported in the Church? • 1 Thessalonians 5:21 • 1 Timothy 5:21 • Leviticus 19:15 • Deuteronomy 1:16 • Proverbs 18:5

  19. QUESTION 4 What can we learn from the zeal of the Israelites against the wickedness of the men of Gibeah? • Jude 3 • Philippians 1:27 • Proverbs 24:21 • Ephesians 5:11

  20. QUESTION 5 Point out some wrong attitudes manifested by the Benjamites. • Jeremiah 23:14

  21. QUESTION 6 What can we learn from the response of the Benjamites to Israel’s demand for Justice against Gibeah? • 1 Timothy 5:20 • Galatians 5:9

  22. CONCLUSION • In order to ensure fairness in judgement, believers must listen to all parties involved. • Believers must act promptly and follow due process to ensure that justice is administered in the Church. • Christians must not defend sin or sinners; rather they should expose the sinners and lead them to the path of repentance and total recovery. • Whenever rebuked or challenged over wrong deed, believers should humble themselves and repent to avoid destruction.
