Use to backup incoming/outgoing faxes and transaction logs. Optimizes FaxPress performance by moving faxes from FaxPress Queues into the archive database. Allows users to manage archived faxes directly through client. Has search options to make it easier to find faxes. Consists of a Windows service and configuration utility. What Is the FaxPress Archive? Fax Archiver
FaxPress up and running. 32 bit Windows OS (2000 Pro/Server, XP Pro, 2003 Server). FaxPress client installed on host machine Account with Local Administrator rights to run the service. May create service account for the Archive program. Account must be granted to log in as a service – can be assigned via Local Security Policy. Account must be able to connect to the file server hosting the FaxPress and have full control of the Castelle directory. Before You Begin
File Permissions Client workstation: Read/Write permissions to Database folder (shared as FPRESSDB). Service Account: Read permission to Castelle folder and Read/Write permissions to Database and Faxes folder. FaxPress S/N Account: Full Control to Archive folder (including full control of Database folder). If using MS SQL server for archive database: Database and DSN must be created for archive program. Login account to SQL must have permission to read/write and create tables. Before You Begin
Installation and Configuration Fax Archiver
Installation Steps: Archive service Installed from the FaxPress setup CD by selecting Add On Products. The installation process will prompt you for a user account name and password. The installation process will ask if you want to configure the service. Installation and Configuration
Configuration Steps: Select Mode Select Database Configure for MS Access or SQL database Configure archive properties Set configuration and start/restart service Installation and Configuration
Special Considerations: MS SQL server should be used for high fax volume environments. Multiple FaxPress servers must use same file server and Castelle directory. If running once a day make sure it does not conflict with other processes. Installation and Configuration

Archive does not install: Install Archive service manually through command line (“Archive -i” to install service). Archive is not working properly: Read the trace.txt file (program files\Castelle\FaxPress\Fax Archiver folder). Cannot access archive through client: Check file permissions for Database and Faxes folder in Castelle\Archive folder. Troubleshooting Typical Scenarios
