Oscar Mead Sailing CV Oscar Mead is a keen young Cowes based sailor / boat builder, who has achieved many successes in both sailing and other related projects. Projects include the total restoration of a 24ft “quarter tonner”, for Cowes week 2007 and the modification of several other boats. The proposal Mead Racing is dedicated to building a small sailing team, who will work with key sponsors to deliver outstanding race results, married with outstanding media coverage and brand building for our sponsor. Mead Racing focuses on the short handed sailing environment, a rapidly growing and very international part of the sport. In the short term the team have a realistic UK based sailing strategy. Oscar Mead has just been announced as the youngest entrant in next years OSTAR, a single handed transatlantic from Plymouth to America, and was at the official launch at the Southampton boat show on the 12th of September. • Small cohesive team • Outstanding results • Short Handed sailing • International focus • Realistic approach • Ambitious goals
Events 2008 The 2008 season has already proved a highly successful one with overall victory In Britain's premiere two handed circuit already secured with a race to spare. The team has successfully qualified for the 2009 Ostar and is now beginning preparations for next season. Other events this season include the culmination of the two handed series and the final race of the 2008 solo series. The team is currently ranked first in both events.
Events 2009 The 2009 season will be a exciting one with an entry in the OSTAR, for which Oscar is the youngest competitor in race history, as well as the historic Fastnet Race . These are hugely publicised races, and with the help of modern technology, race tracking and on the water video footage they become inspiring and highly lucrative sponsorship opportunities. The Future As well as the OSTAR the team are looking to compete in the 2009 Fastnet race, as well as the 2010 Round Britain and Ireland race. Future races include La Route du Rhum, The Transat Jacques Vabre, and the ARTEMIS Transat, The team’s ultimate goal is the 2016 Vendee Globe Solo Around The World Race, pitting the world’s best sailors against each other in the toughest sporting event on the planet.

The boat The Class 40 is a low budget offshore rally car, designed for speed! Its wide beam and striking looks make it the ultimate marketing machine attracting attention around the world. Built using the latest technology the Class 40 is light and fast, however restrictions in construction rules help to keep the class affordable. Class 40 has enjoyed a dramatic growth over the past three years with well over seventy boats already registered.
Summary The team is keen to step up to the next level and is seeking a sponsor whose support will allow us to charter a Class 40 to enter the races previously outlined. Sailing sponsorship has proved in the recent past to be a very lucrative and successful investment, with examples such as B&Q and Hugo Boss.
