In-class Activity Design -2 Peer Instruction Strategy – What Teacher Does Pose the two PI questions at the start of the class and provide summary of basic identities and expression simplification. Q 1 : Find the Young’s modulus of elasticity for the material which is 200 cm long, 7.5 cm wide and 15 cm deep. Tie material is subjected to axial force of 4200 KN. As a result material is stretched 2.67 cm. Hint: Using V4; out-class activity Q:3

  13. In-class Activity Design -2 Peer Instruction Strategy – What Teacher Does  Q 2: A wire of a length 1m and diameter of 0.4mm is hung from a ceiling. Find the extension caused in the wire, by attaching a weight of 100N, if the material of the wire has the Young's modulus (E) of 200x10^(11)Nm-2 Hint: Apply what you learned from V1,V2 and V3

  14. In-class Activity Design -2 • Peer Instruction Strategy – What Student Does • For each question they will first vote individually. • Then they will discuss with peers and come to consensus. • Listen to instructors explanation.

  15. In-class Activity Design -2 TPS Strategy – What Instructor does A topic is to be given to the students for discussion in the class. They are given time to think on the topic given to them. They are asked to discuss among themselves and the answers will be discussed in the class. Any clarification on the concepts required will be cleared by me.

  16. In-class Activity Design -2 TPS Strategy Think (3 minutes): When a load is given to the body what all stresses will be developed in the body. Discuss. Pair (5 minutes) : The students are divided into a group of 4 and are asked to discuss on the question given. Share (10minutes)- The opinion of each group is discussed in the class and the clarification on the concept if required is given.

They are required to think deeply about the content they were familiarized in out-of-class, do higher order thinking and come up with solutions for the problems given to them..
