  3. Paper Mache Process Step 1: After drawing a plan and printing references to look at,crumple and cut strips of news paper Step 2: tape them together to create a basic form/ structure for your sculpture

  4. Step 3: Mix the paper mache glue called wheat paste , use elmer’s glue & water, or ask your teacher about plaster craft. Step 4: Cut more strips of news paper and wet these new strips of newspaper with the mixed glue. (If using plaster craft cut it into small strips and dunk them in water)

  5. Step 5:Place wet strips of news paper or plaster craft over your armature and smooth down.

  6. Step 6: let it dry over night until the new “skin” is hard. The sculpture should feel firm to the touch and not be damp at all. Step 7: Apply a base coat of white tempera paint on the surface before painting the colors to block the newsprint from showing through the paint.

  7. Last Step - 8: Paint your sculpture using acrylic or tempera paint!
