Data, tools and outreach WP1 Workplan INCOFISH Web portal Data submissions, updates, data access Outputs of WP4 online WP4 information dissemination and outreach
WP1 Objectives Make relevant ICZM data available Provide an archive function Provide online tools Provide Mapping tools for WP3 Provide a user-friendly one-stop internet portal Provide a discussion forum on ICZM issues Provide interfaces where the public can upload data Assist project partners in building their own web presence Work in an integrated fashion with WP2-10
WP1 Deliverables Free online access to all data relevant to this project (web portal, month 19). Data Archive for all relevant data of D1.1 not archived elsewhere (database, month 19). Online ICZM tools including coastal transects, and special step-by-step tools for common ICZM tasks (web software, month 25). Electronic maps for all relevant marine organisms (web-based maps, month 25). Internet Portal including Forum, Data Upload, and Links (web portal, month 13). Maintenance of portal, uploading of WP data & tools, report on achievements (report, month 36). D1.7 At least five scientific publications related to this WP to be published or submitted by WP members before the end of the project (month 36).

The Fish-Ruler – A Success Story for Germany The currently available fish ruler indicates the length at which 90-100 % of individuals of a given species are reproductively mature. It shows also length of individuals without head and length of entire filets. The fish ruler- called “Fisch-O-Meter” - is being produced and distributed by the German consumer protection association in cooperation with the Lighthouse Foundation. WP7 Indicators for Sustainable Fisheries. Lead scientist: Rainer Froese, Coordinator: Amanda Stern-Pirlot, both IfM-GEOMAR, Germany.

WP4 Objectives Compile and make available all data relevant for the construction of models for the selected LMEs; Construct standardized ecosystem models; Work closely with WP 5 on the size and placement of protected areas; explore patterns of response of impacted ecosystems, testing hypothesis on resilience and impact of fisheries on ecosystems. Contribute to the exploration of ecosystem attributes in a two levels strategy: 1) Impact of fishing, compatibility of conservation and exploitation under sustainable use of the ecosystems 2) A meta-analysis, searching patterns of response of aquatic ecosystems on human impact.
WP 4 Deliverables Data relevant for ecosystem modelling disseminated through WP 1 (database, month 13); Ecosystem models available for all INCOFISH ecosystems (models, month 19); Spatial ecosystem models available for all selected LME’s (models, month 25); Further development of models, interactions with WPs, final report (report, month 34). At least five scientific publications related to this WP to be published or submitted by WP members before the end of the project (month 34)
