Prerequisites • Take backup of the existing Shoper databases. • Print all the necessary stock & sales reports in earlier version of Shoper. • Copy all the necessary files like custom INI, Bill Templates, Barcode templates, etc. • Run Shoper Diagnostic Tool on existing database and find the results. • Based on the results, fix the data consistency issues before migration process.
Hardware & Software Requirements Stand Alone POS and Server Configuration
Hardware & Software Requirements Client Configuration • If the customer is using old systems, ensure that the configurations are compatible with the recommended specifications
Hardware & Software Requirements • Shoper Diagnostic Tool • Customised Business Templates, if any
Installation Process • Uninstall the earlier version of Shoper • Install Shoper 9 with a dummy company code • Update latest patches • Activate the license
Migration Process • Create a new company, with the same company code as in the earlier version, for migration using Setup > Create Company • Select the old database (SQL/ MSDE/ MSAccess) • Complete the migration process • Migrate Secondary database, if any • Uninstall the dummy company created using Setup > Company Maintenance
Data Collection after Migration • Generate all necessary reports after migration • Compare the reports before and after migration • Take backup of the migrated Shoper 9 company
Checks after Migration • All the reports before and after migration are matching • Customer sign off is obtained on the reports • Latest patch is updated • All the prefixes are set • All the menus are working after migration
