Current Glenmont Playground • Constructed 1996-1997 • Outdated and several pieces are not in working order • Safety hazards with broken pieces • No ADA accessible play elements • Ground cover is sparse and not up to depth requirements • Wooden retaining walls are leaning or rotting • Drainage issues need to be addressed • Most likely not meeting current safety codes for insurance purposes • Swing sets are in satisfactory condition

Proposed Timeline • April 24, 2012 Initial Playground Meeting to determine interest • April 29, 2012 Created Survey to seek input from Glenmont community • June 12, 2012 Glenmont PTA created a formal Playground Committee • August-November 2012 Research -Meeting with BCSD Superintendent Tom Douglas -Meeting with Laura Heffernan and Gregg Nolte (BCSD Maintenance) -Meeting with Ms. Liza Agresta, Playground Consultant, R.E. Woodson, Inc. (Playworld Systems) • November 27, 2012 Informational Presentation • December 11, 2012 PTA Meeting, Members vote and approve project and set aside $6000.00 to kick start fundraising efforts • February/March 2013Kick-off event • June 2013 – Fundraiser TBD, Grant Submissions • Fall 2013 – Fundraiser TBD • Winter 2013-2014 • Spring 2014
