Tien’s Current Research Interests Developing effective tools for real-time, information-driven decision making (i.e., decision informatics) to manage computer networks and to enable mass customized or personalized services and products. Developing effective data fusion and analysis algorithms to counter the pervasive data rich, information poor (DRIP) problem. Developing risk-based, adaptive models for assessing and responding to exigencies that threaten safety and security systems.
