F acts A ction I ndividual T rust H ope! Believe Repent Baptized The Solution To Man’s Sin Problem We Noticed In Our Last Lesson That God Has Provided The Solution To Man’s Sin Problem. When We Put Our Faith In Christ Jesus, God Gives Us Undeserved Grace. Remember The Acrostic That Helps Give A Definition Of Faith. Let’s Use This Illustration To Lead Us Into This Lesson Abut Our Response (Action) To God’s Love.
A Renewed Relationship With God • Let’s Start This Lesson By Using An Equation Of Words And Phrases That Are Used Interchangeably In Scripture. Saved = Sins Forgiven = Eternal Life = Born Again • As Truth Seekers, Let’s Search The Scriptures And Find Passages Where These Terms Are Used. • Let’s Look For Certain Facts Stated About Jesus And The Action God Is Looking For From Us In Response To Those Facts.
His Promise To Us • We Will Also Study What He Promised Us When We Respond As He Asks. • We Will Begin By Looking At John 3:16 "For God So Loved The World That He Gave His One and Only Son, That Whoever Believes In Him Shall Not Perish But Have Eternal Life."
Do You Believe That Jesus Christ Is The Son Of God? All Students Of God’s Word Must Come To A Point Where They Either Accept Or Reject The Evidence Of The Scriptures About Who Jesus Is. The Question You Must Ask Yourself Is, “Do You Believe That Jesus Christ Is The Son Of God?” The Bible Shows Us How Important It Is For Us To Believe.
Salvation John 11:25-26 (Jesus To Martha) Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" If This Were The Only Verse That Talked About The Subject Of Salvation, Then Believing Would Be The Only Necessary Response. However, Satan, The Demons And Many Unsaved People Believe That Jesus Christ Is The Son Of God Without Receiving The Promise Of Eternal Life. You Cannot Do More Than Believe Until You Believe.
The Demon Possessed Man • In Mark We Read About A Demon-possessed Man That Jesus Met. • In Mark 5:7-8, Jesus Has A Conversation With The Demon That Lived In This Man. Mark 5:7-8 He (the demon) shouted at the top of his voice, "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won't torture me!“ For Jesus had said to him, "Come out of this man, you evil spirit!" The Demon Calls Jesus “Son Of The Most High God,” Yet He Did Not Receive The Promise Of Eternal Life.
The Demons Believe And Shudder James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that – and shudder. No One Would Say That Demons Are Saved Even Though They Believe; Rather, They Stand In Fear Of God And Shudder. Therefore, We Must Search For More Verses That Deal With The Subject Of Our Salvation.
Believe In Our Hearts The Apostle Paul Is Writing To A Group Of Baptized Believers In Rome Telling Them What They Must Continuously Be Doing In Their Saved Relationship With God. Not Only Is Believing In The Resurrection Of Jesus A Necessary Response, But So Is Confessing “Jesus Is Lord.” Romans 10:9-10 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
We Must Surrender To Christ Actions Facts Promises Believe John 3:16 “Jesus is God’s Son” John 11:25-26 Mark 5:7 James 2:19 Eternal Life
We Must Surrender To Christ Satan Or The Demons Believe Jesus Is The Son Of God, But They Will Not Surrender Their Lives To His Lordship.
We Must Surrender To Christ Satan Or The Demons Believe Jesus Is The Son Of God, But They Will Not Surrender Their Lives To His Lordship. To Make Someone Lord Means We Surrender To Him As Our Master, Our King, And The Authority Of Our Lives.
Jesus Said: Matthew 7:21-23 • "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?‘ Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
More Than Lip Service Jesus Is Looking For More Than Our Lip Service. His Lordship Guides Our Actions As Well. He Also Says Our Relationship With God Is Not Secure By Just Doing A Lot Of Good Things That We Think Are Right. If He Truly Is Lord, Our Lifelong Desire Is To Know And Do His Will In Our Lives. Our Surrender To Him, Our Acknowledging His Authority, Should Be Obvious To Others By The Way We Live Our Lives. This Will Make A Difference On The Day Of Judgment When We Stand Before God, As Explained By Jesus In The Gospel Of Matthew. Matthew 10:32-33 "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven”.
Making Jesus Lord A Diagram That Illustrates The Importance Of Making Jesus Lord Is To The Right. Let’s Let This Circle Represent Your Life While The Marks Around The Outside Represent Characteristics Of Who You Are (Your Hobbies, Speech, Friends, Attitudes, Places You Frequent). The Chair Pictured In The Middle Represents The Throne Of Your Life Or The One Who Is In Control, Which Is Usually Ourselves.
Jesus Is King Often When People Want Jesus In Their Lives, They Add Him As One Of The Marks Around The Outside Of Their Circle (Going To Church On Sunday, Reading The Bible More, Praying Daily). But That Is Not Good Enough. Jesus Deserves To Sit On The Throne Of Your Heart Because He Is King. Throne of my heart
I Surrender All Everyone Must Choose Whether Or Not To Surrender To Jesus And Let Him Take This Place Of Authority In Their Lives. If We Do, From That Point Forward, Our Lives Begin To Change To Be More Like Him.
What Would Jesus Do? We Start Asking, “What Would Jesus Do?” Concerning Every Aspect Of Our Lives. We Stop Doing The Things That He Would Not Approve Of And Start Doing The Things That He Would By The Power Of His Spirit Living In Us.
Being Transformed These Changes Will Take Place For The Rest Of Our Lives Until He Comes To Take Us Home, As Paul Explained In His Letter To The Christians At Corinth. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
Jesus As Lord Surrendering Your Life To Jesus As Lord Is Inviting Him To Come Into Your Life. Some People Refer To This As Asking Jesus To Come Into Your Heart. When His Spirit Co-exist With Your Spirit, He Rules. You Submit To Him And Let Him Be Your Master
Freedom Notice The Statement About Our Freedom In This Verse – 2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Freedom From Sin, Freedom From The Guilt Of Sin, Freedom From Self-centeredness, Freedom From Doing Only The Things That Would Satisfy Us But Not Glorify The Lord. Freedom From These Things Give You Peace, Joy And Hope Through The Assurance That You Will Spend Eternity With Him.
Our Guarantee His Spirit With Us Is Our Guarantee, And We Live To Glorify Him. Paul Described These Truths To The Christians At Ephesus. Ephesians 1:13-14 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.
Belief And Surrender Is Essential • I Would Like To Ask Each Reader Who Believes That Jesus Christ Is The Risen Son Of God A Very Important Question: “ Are You Ready To Let Jesus Have This Place Of Authority In Your Life Confessing Him As Lord?” • This Is The Most Important Decision That You Will Ever Make. • It Has Eternal Consequences. • The Scriptures Convince Us That Our Belief And Surrender Is Essential.
The Scriptures Tell Us How To Surrender • They Also Tell Us How To Surrender Our Lives To Jesus As Believers In Him. Mark 16:15-16 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
The Great Commission These Two Verses: Mark 16:15-16 And Matthew 28:18-20 Are Known By Most Bible Students As The “Great Commission”. After The Resurrection Of Jesus, He Appeared To The Apostles And Sent Them Out On This Great Mission To Teach All People The Good News Message Of Jesus.
In Mark 16 We Notice That To Just Believe Was Not A Complete Response To The Message Of God’s Love. In Matthew 28 We Read That Jesus Has All Authority. If We Are To Become His Disciples, We Must Surrender To Him As He Asks Us To. A Disciple Is One Who Diligently Follows The Teaching And Lifestyle Of Another. When You As A Believer Are Baptized, This Is Your Surrender To Jesus As Lord, And You Become His Disciple. Response To God’s Love
