Who we are NCCA of KHF is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization that was established in 1987 by Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein with the mission to promote social development, cross-cultural understanding, and creativity by utilizing the performing arts nationally and internationally.

Y-PEER Theater Based Education Training UNFPA conducted an assessment of Performing Arts Centres in the Arab Region. NCCA was selected and appointed by UNFPA to act as the Regional Centre of Excellence for Theater Based Peer Education Training. Accredited and certified by ITI.
The agreement was signed between the UNFPA Arab States Regional Office and NCCA on 6 June, 2013, indicating that the NCCA will work in partnership with UNFPA and the Y-Peer Network to use the interactive theater- based techniques in training young people age (19-30). In June 2014 NCCA became the Global Centre for Theatre Based PEER Education Training
Objectives • To utilize theater skills and participatory drama methodology to raise • awareness on healthy lifestyles, reproductive health and civic • engagement. • To provide specialized training to Y-PEER educators in both • performing arts and PEER health education to deliver effective • dynamic messages through performing arts to young people on • controversial, yet important issues related to reproductive health, • prevention of HIV and AIDS, sexuality education and women’s rights. • To strengthen Y-PEER activities in Eastern Europe , Central • Asia, Middle East, North Africa, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific • region .
The Training Manual The training is based on the Arabic version of Theatre Based Techniques for PEER Education Manual produced by UNFPA in 2005. The manual is intended for program managers and youth PEER educators who are interested in adding a theatre component to their reproductive health and HIV prevention activities or in strengthening a theatre component that is already part of a program.
The manual includes 4 chapters: Section 1. Starting with the basics Section 2. Effective Post – Performance Discussion Section 3. More Theatre Games and Exercises Section 4. Advanced Peer Theatre Programmes: Forming and Building a Theatre Company

PACT Theatre Based PEER Education Training Courses Beginners courses 40 training hours over a period of 7 days. Advanced courses 40 training hours over a period of 7 days. Conducted by 6 master trainers of NCCA. Accredited and certified by the International Theatre Institute (ITI) - UNESCO.
Selection Criteria of Participants • Basic practical knowledge of theatre arts • Basic knowledge of HIV/AIDS, reproductive health and civic engagement • Experience in Peer Education in general • Experience in Voluntary work • Ability to transfer knowledge to youth • Eligibility of Age 18- 30
The First Regional Y-PEERTheatre Based Education Training Held from 22 – 27 September 2013, in Amman – Jordan with the participation of 26 members of the Y-PEER network from Algeria, Egypt, Sudan, Yemen, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Lebanon, Libya, Djibouti, Somalia and Jordan.
Outcome • The 26 participants were able to successfully device and perform 4 drama scenes as an outcome of the training: • "Abu Ahmad Family" about family planning • "A Teenager in Our House" about puberty and sexuality education • HIV and Aids stigma • "Childhood tale" about early marriage and sexuality education • A short documentary about the training course was producedhttp://youtu.be/TOZUfoAYYAM
The Second Regional Y-PEERTheatre Based Education Training Held from 19 - 26, May 2014 for 25 Y-Peers age (19 – 30) from the following countries; Algeria, Tunis, Morocco, Egypt, Oman, Sudan, Libya, Yemen, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine and Jordan.
Outcome • the participants presented 4 drama scenes that culminated as an • outcome of the training, depicting issues related to adversities of early marriage, puberty HIV Aids and sex education. • The bus stop • Lost dreams • Until when? • Confused teen ager
Y-PEERTheatre Based Education Training for Iraqi Youth From 23 – 31 March in Amman – Jordan for 26 Iraqi participants from the Ministry of Youth and Sport. From 21 – 27 June, 2014, in Kurdistan
Future Training Courses Training courses are open for international participants and will be conducted in English.
