CIVIL WORKS PROJECTSTYPES of WORK • The Civil Works program contracts for Architect Engineer services primarily though Indefinite Delivery Type contracts. All AE contracts are advertised in FEDBIZOPS and about 2 new AE’s are hired each year, on average. Delivery orders are issued from these contracts for Plans and Specifications, Surveys, Geotechnical Investigations, etc. • The Civil Works program awards Construction Contracts for channel and levee improvements, environmental restoration, shore protection, harbor dredging, water and wastewater facilities, and other civil works projects. Contracts are typically awarded based on competitive bidding. • Service Contracts are awarded for professional services for development of Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements and the associated studies and field surveys.
