P.E., Driver Education & Health • Department Chair: • Ms. Teri Klobnack • General Information: • 3.5 years of PE is required • Weekly Routine • 3 days per week of a sports activity, weight training, or recreational activity. • 2 days per week of fitness-related activities, designed to improve personal levels of fitness. • Fitness testing will be done three to four times per year. • A school-issued P.E. uniform is required for all students. • Drivers Education is also open to freshman who turn 15 before January 1st. • Enrollment priority is issued to upper classmen.
Increased rigor • Students are encouraged to increase the rigor of their academic program. • Beginning with the class of 2018, students are expected to incorporate an Advanced Placement (AP) course into their academic program. • District 117 has increased the number of AP classes from 17-21 across several departments. • You can see a complete list of AP courses on pg. 23 of your Course & Activity Guide. • Beginning with the class of 2018, District 117 will no longer calculate class rank.
