Conventions The mechanical correctness of the piece. Good conventions are important because when you read something that is not written well it makes you confused.
What does it look in writing Weak • Spelling errors are frequent, even on common words • Punctuation is often missing or incorrect • Capitalization is random, inconsistent , and sometimes nonexistent Strong • The author uses standard writing conventions effectively. • The spelling is usually correct. • Punctuation is correct. • The capitalization is thoroughly understood and consistently correct. Error in grammar/usage are frequently making writing incomprehensible. Grammar/usage is correct making the meaning clear and inviting to read.
Conventions: Perfect Example The first born son, a proud family position in nations around the world. Heirs of the family profession and fortune, these children have a position of potential wealth and power. Parents in some countries have even been known to murder their own first born infants if they are not male. I just happen to be the first born son in my family. I could be powerful, wealthy, have a decent hair cut, but wait, there's one catch. This example is perfect because the author uses standards writing conventions effectively to enhance readability.
Bad Conventions I think that athletes sould get paid millions of dollars for many reasons. Here are some of them. The first reason is that they intertain many of people and they shouldn't play in front of many people for free. Second reason is that Im a ball player and Im trying to get paid millions too. If they wasn't getting paid there wouldn't be as many players trying to go pro. They are risking their self so if they get ingured how could they pay for their insurance. This a bad conventions because errors are the norm and repeatedly distract reader, making text unreadable.
