“Phase – I” Progress • Israeli Experts visited States of Haryana and Maharashtra (January 2008 to December 2010) • Field training of officers and farmers • Centres of Excellence completed in Haryana and under development in Maharashtra • Technologies demonstrated • horticulture mechanization • protected cultivation • orchard and canopy management • nursery management • micro-irrigation • Post Harvest Management • Import of elite planting material, rootstock of fruits and farm machinery • 57 officers from States trained in Israel during Phase-I
CoEVegatables, Gharaunda • Nursery protocols for seedling production developed. • More than 50 lakh seedlings sold to the farmers for vegetables • Green house vegetable cultivation protocols developed for tomato, cucumber, capsicum and book published for farmers. • 1st and 2nd Vegetable Expo organised in 2012 and 2013.
CoE Vegetables, Achievements • The Centre has achieved the potential productivity of 302 MT per ha in Tomato, 211 MT in Capsicum & 151 MT in Cucumber. • 75 varieties of tomatoes (45 cherry & 30 regular hybrids), 14 hybrids of capsicum of 7 colours & 5 hybrids of cucumber have been demonstrated at this center. • On an average 50 farmers visit the Centre per day & during last year more than 16000 farmers have visited the center for exposure visit in the last two years. • Training to Extension officers and private entrepreneurs and companies.
CEV Impact • Area covered during 2012-13: 132 ha under poly house and total 545 ha under poly house + mulching and tunnels. • Bankable projects for protected cultivation has been developed in collaboration with NABARD.
Centre of Excellence for Fruits High-tech Green House • 3 lakh root-stock prepared under soil less media for citrus • 50,000 Papaya plants produced • 10 lakh vegetable seedlings produced and sold to farmers
CoE Fruits, Sirsa - Achievements Insect Net Houses • No of units: 5 • Size 2000 sqm each • 50,000 virus free Kinnow plants produced and sold to farmers • Target: 2013-14: 1.0 lakh plants
Participating States The action plan is intended to be implemented with technical assistance from Netherlands and cost of creation of infrastructure will be met from the existing components of NHM and HMNEH.
