Describing rooms • Identify the room and begin your description from the perspective of the doorway. • Describe the shape of the room. • Identify the furniture or features in the room, starting with the most noticeable. • After identify each feature or piece of furniture, indicate its location by using classifiers or pointing. • Do same for each part of room using orderly or logical sequence, i.e., from left to right, from near to far, or area by area.

Room Project!!! • You will design your bedroom (the way it is or your dream room). • Use manilla paper, construction paper, computer designs, etc. BE CREATIVE! • Be detailed with patterns and shapes. • On the back of your room paper: • Put your name and period # • Write the gloss for how you would describe your room using the grammar rules you learned for describing a room.
Include: • 3 pieces of furniture • 3 classifiers • 6 signs from the house vocabulary • 1 opinion signs from the vocabulary
