“Ideja” is an education center that offers different informal learning and professional development education programs in field of decorative applied arts; • Seven of our vocational education programs are accepted by Latvian Republic Ministry of Education and Science. • The programs are tended to discover participants creative potential, improve skills, introduce innovative techniques and methods along with new materials available, such as paints, papers, instruments. Target audience is youth, adults and seniors. • A lot of the participants are teachers, that improves their professional skills, but there are an audience that are willing to become self employed persons after the education course and make their own handcrafts for sale. • The educational activities cover all Latvian territory – Kurzeme, Latgale, Vidzeme, Zemgale, and of course the capital – Riga. We organize projects, educational courses, workshops and events ourselves and also take part in events organized by others (NGOs, private companies, municipalities, etc.); • Our staff: ~ 10 people; • We are located in Riga (Latvia), but we carry out activities in the whole country and participate in international projects; • IIC «IDEJA» was founded in 2004. Our aim is to ensure people that they can be creative and educate them giving the theoretical and practical experience. • Our activities are also focused on environment preservation and most recent projects are tended to motivate our students and other country project participants think and act greener. Our main directions are innovation in education, ecology and art. • When working with our students, we combine teaching of various art techniques with recycling and responsibility of resource usage, motivating them to be “green thinking”, to be creative, to have intention to involve others in creative activities actively. • We help people to express themselves and enter the world of creativity, helping to walk away from today’s consumer society and discover a different, friendly and exciting world.
