  8. TEENAGE YEARS Self conscious Prefer people to ask rather than stare Bugbear - parents berating children for asking questions Children are inquisitive

  9. How did I get into swimming? • Moved to Dubai in 1999 • Water baby • Swimming was a hobby • First local gala • Realised I wanted to be a Paralympic Champion

  10. WYRE FOREST SWIMMING CLUB • First National disability meet at aged 12 • Bronze medal • England and World Class Potential Programme

  11. ATHENS 2004 PARALYMPIC GAMES • Aged 16 • First international competition • 1x Bronze S9 100 Backstroke • 1x bronze s9 200 Individual Medley
