Matilda By: Roald Dahl
Summary Matilda is a book about a little girl with special powers. She has a mean dad who yells at her a lot and a mom who ignores her. One day she realizes she can use her mind to move things and make things happen. She uses her powers to help people and escape from her family. She loves school and her teacher, Miss Honey adopts her. At the end of the book she is finally happy and with someone who cares about her.

What I Liked • I liked that Matilda had powers, because I wish I had powers. • I liked that Miss Honey was nice to Matilda and helped her. • I liked that Matilda beat Ms. Trunchbull.
What I Didn’t Like • I didn’t like that Matilda’s parents were mean to her. • I didn’t like the chokey.
What I Learned From This Book I learned to never give up and that kids are strong. Even though Matilda was just a little girl she did a lot and was smart and strong. I also learned that I am very lucky that my parents aren’t mean and let me go to school. I also learned that school is really important, to learn things and meet new people.
