About the book • Book Title: Matilda • Author: Roald Dahl • Illustrator: Quentin Blake This book is about a little 5 and a half year old girl named Matilda. The story is about Matilda’s life up to this age and her first year at school. She meets lots of interesting people along her way like Miss Trunchbull (The Principal), Miss Honey (Her Teacher), and lots of friends like Amanda Thripp and Bruce Bogtrotter.
Favourite Character My Favourite character in this book is Matilda because she is very intelligent for her age and she is very confident. I also like how she plays tricks on the adults. For example she can move objects because later on in the story she moves chalk and scares her teachers so the Headmistress had better watch out.
Why I Liked The Book I liked this book because Matilda is a very different person to anyone I know and she always gets through difficulties herself because her parents are selfish and do things for themselves and don’t take notice of how intelligent Matilda actually is. It also makes you laugh about all the funny things her friends and her do.
Why You Should Read This Book You should read this book because it is interesting, exciting and it draws a picture in your mind of Matilda’s life and how she handles it, Like getting out of the house and going to the library herself to read, but her parents hate her reading and always say to her to watch more T.V and read fewer books.
