American Women in the Workforce after WWII Alexis Munoz
Initial Topic • When I first decided on my topic, I wanted to study women in World War II. I wanted to break the perspective that we have been presented in the past that men went off to war and women stayed in the home. I wanted to research women who contributed to the war effort, be it in the work force or in the armed forces. I also wanted to research European women, mainly German, in the war on the European Front.
Where I Started? • Berkeley Library Sources • http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/ • MY Personal Favorites: • Electronic Resources • OskiCat
Bancroft Library • Search OskiCat for your topic • Use Bancroft Online Site to Request a topic
Regional Oral History Office (ROHO) • http://bancroft.berkeley.edu/ROHO/ • Collections: • Featured Projects: • Rosie The Riveter / World War II Home Front Oral History Project
Final Topic Proposal • German women • Rarely brought any results • Shifted focus to American women in the war effort • Brought more results that were more in tune with my topic
