  20. Who were code talkers? • Radio code based on the Native American Navajo language that the Japanese were never able to decode

  21. What was the Bracero Program? • United States recruiting farm and railroad workers from Mexico to join the war

  22. What were internment camps? • The army relocated more than 100,000 Japanese-Americans to detention centers • Conditions were harsh, crowded, and uncomfortable
