The U.S.-Mexico Border and the U.S.-Canada border are threated completely different from each other because of racial factors and poverty levels in that country. Original Thesis
Why is the U.S.-Mexico border seen differently from the U.S.-Canada ? • Is racism related to this impact ? • Is the level of poverty also another factor for this? • What is the main reason that the U.S. is so harsh toward Mexico? Research Questions
Poverty Levels: Mexico and Canada have completely different economic statues. Canada being a first world country and Mexico being a struggling third world country makes a big difference in how they are both threated by the United States. For example with the introduction of NAFTA there was also the increase for cheap labor in Mexico but not in Canada. People in Mexico are more willing to work for cheap. People in Canada are not because there are more economically stable. Racial Factors: There is the case with Justin Bieber being arrested back in January 2014 for a DUI, Racing, and resistance of arrest. He is on a visa and if it were any other case about a similar situation like that the person would have been deported back to the home country without a chance to do anything about it. Canada is of Anglo-European decent which is a superior race so they are viewed differently then a person from a nun-superior race. Argument
