Mission • To develop opportunities that inspire the global community of learners to utilize diverse approaches in applying 21st Century Skills and creativity. • The Destination Imagination program encourages teams of learners to have fun, take risks, focus, and frame challenges while incorporating STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), the arts, and service learning. • Our participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process. Teams may showcase their solutions at a tournament. • Vision • To be the global leader in teaching the creative process on the journey from imagination to application.

Interference and Parents Early in the meeting year, hopefully before the team has chosen the Challenge to which they want to apply the CPS process, have a meeting with all team parents. During that meeting, present the Interference Pyramid to them. Also, provide the parents with a copy of the Declaration of Independence the team will have to sign as part of their Tournament paperwork. Point out to the parents that if they provide ideas to the team which they eventually decide to use, in part or in total, they place the team in a situation in which they either lie and state they had no help from non-team members, or they take a deduction for the outside help they received. Appraisers are trained to spot and deduct for interference from Team Managers and parents in order to provide a level playing field for all teams.
