3. Maya • Maya was Jasmine’s best friend. Maya’s favorite color is blue. Maya has black hair and she wears a brace on her leg. Maya was very surprised when her friend had a surprise party for her. Maya was happy. She was shocked to see all the blue food. Maya wanted blue teeth like Bryan.

4. Book Recommendation • A Blue Birthday by Daniel Jacobs • This is a realistic fiction book. • Jasmine had a surprise “blue” birthday party for her friend Maya. Jasmine was surprised too. • I thought this was a funny book. It’s cool. It’s a nice book.

5. Author’s Message • The problem in the Blue Birthday was that all the food and milk was blue. This made Maya and Jasmine sad. The problem was solved when Bryan ate the food and drank the milk and said it was good. Maya and Jasmine learned that the color didn’t change the taste of the food. I learned that it might taste good even if it looks not good.
