  4. Plants • They did not farm, but women gathered nuts, fruit, roots, and seeds.

  5. Animals • They hunted deer, elk, and other game. • Once they had horses, they used them to herd buffalo. • They also fished.

  6. Clothing • Women wore long deerskin dresses. • Men wore buckskin. • Clothes were made from trees, shrubs, and animal skins.

  7. Shelter (nomadic or permanent) • Tepees and long houses
