  2. What is a Joint? • Any place where two or more bones meet • Classified as immovable or movable

  3. Immovable Joints • - Located in the skull (picture) and ribs • This joint doesn’t move • - When the bones fuse together it is called a suture

  4. Ball and Socket • The ball and socket jointallow you to move at a 360° rotation. (Hip and Shoulder) • This joint allows for the most range of motion

  5. Pivot Joint • This allows one joint to rotate around another • Picture a basketball player that pivots on one foot so not to travel • Located in forearm and neck

  6. Hinge Joint • Knee, elbow, and fingers • Move in only 1 direction • Open and shut like a door • Elbow

  7. Gliding Joint • This joint allows one bone to slide over another • Located in between your vertebrae and your wrists and ankles
