Here’s what you need for class almost every day • Daily/weekly packets or notes • Folder for organizing your tests and notes • Notebook for taking notes*****Yes, notes!!! • Pencils and erasers – no pens please! • Homework • Calculator (TI-84 Plus is best) - sometimes • Open mind, good work ethic, common courtesies and a smile!

Here’s how we do homework 10 points for completing entire assignment 5 points for completing about half of assignment 0 points for little or no attempt at completing assignment We will accept late HW but only for partial credit. You only get one extra day to make it up. After that, it will not be accepted
Passes You will receive 8 passes per marking period to use to leave the classroom. These passes are used for lav, locker, nurse, guidance, etc. Once they are used up, you are not permitted to leave class unless for emergency. Whatever passes are left at the end of marking period become bonus points. You must have a teacher sign the pass before leaving.
Grading 50% Evaluation • at least 2 a MP – Chapter Tests/Unit Tests 40% Assessments • at least 3 a MP – quizzes/graded assignments 10% Practice daily - homework/classwork • Re-take Policy • must re-do any benchmark assessmentif score below a 75% • there are NO re-do’s on any other evaluations or assessments • ***exceptions depend on circumstances
iPods, cell phones, technical gadgets from home We don’t want to see them!! Either you put them away, or we take them away, and then you get them back at the end of the day!
Important: No purses, backpacks, jackets, etc. may be kept on your desk or lap at any time. You just need your work, pencil and a calculator (sometimes) on your desk.
Calculators We will use graphing calculators (TI-84) from time to time. If you accidentally drop and break it, you will have to pay the school $100 to replace it so be careful!
Good Advice If you want to pass, you have to be in class! Frequent absences or tardies will cost you your grade. You won’t understand what’s going on. Come to school on a regular basis, get help when needed, and you’ll do fine. The key to success is keeping up with the assignments. Don’t fall behind. Trust me on this one. We will be available for extra help one day after school. NHS is also available.
A few things about Ms. Rogers: • I enjoy teaching and have been at Northern for more than 25 years! • I enjoy fresh water fishing, swimming, and boating. • I love dogs. I have a West Highland Terrier named Bella and a step dog named Mandy. • My dog is an unofficial therapy dog. She likes to visit with residents at a local nursing home. I enjoy going to rock concerts. In recent years I have seen Aerosmith, Peter Frampton, Foreigner, and Styx to name a few. I love watching Seinfeld…..still!
I love anything in cheetah or leopard print…rugs, scarves, skirts, placemats…etc. And yes, my dog has a cheetah print jacket. Did you have to ask??? I love to crochet to reduce stress. I am currently making dog jackets and will be in a craft show this fall and will donate some of the proceeds to the Humane Society. Here is Bella sporting one of the jackets I made.
A few things about Mrs. Harrison • I enjoy teaching and have been at Northern for 14 years. I have coached many sports at NBC: Varsity Swimming, tennis, field hockey, lacrosse • I taught in the middle school for 10 years. This will be my 4th year at the high school. I also teach Algebra at Burlington County College. • I’m not an “aide” or a “helper” – I am a teacher with a bachelors and a masters degree from TCNJ
I love my family and will talk constantly about my kids – Zackary and Abby and dog Chance. Life is short so I always try to enjoy every moment and take advantage of good opportunities. I have been fortunate enough to travel, try new things such as sky diving and swimming with sharks and even lived and taught in Puerto Rico for a short time.
