SUSPENSE AND SUBCUSTODY PROCESSING TRANSFER TO SUBCUSTODY
Purpose: (1) Transfers an RFI asset from the Supply Officer to another individual or organization on a subcustody basis. An example of this is…. for detachments to areas without adequate support. (i.e. Fallon Nevada) This is SUPO material and does not belong to the squadron. Packup processing in disscussed further in Lesson topic 17. SUBCUSTODY of SUPPO material is also performed when temp loaned to AIMD for bench verification. TRANSFER TO SUBCUSTODY
CONTD…. • (2) Transfers a RFI asset from the Supply Officer to a specific ORG for deployment purposes. • (3) Transfers RFI assets to suspense for further processing.
TRANSFER TO SUBCUSTODY System Action: (1) Deletes RFI item record. (2) Creates subcustody item record. (3) Creates transaction record. (4) Generates subcustody Notice for signature purposes.
TRANSFER TO SUBCUSTODY System Action: (5) All Subcustody items can be reviewed on-line by specific NIIN via Subcustody Stock Status Inquiry. (6) Report available, Subcustody Status Report, identifying items held within WC within ORG.
SUSPENSE AND SUBCUSTODY PROCESSING RETURN FROM SUBCUSTODY
RETURN FROM SUBCUSTODY Purpose: (1) Return subcustody assets to the Supply Officer’s direct control. (2) Return suspense assets to the Supply Officer’s direct control.
RETURN FROM SUBCUSTODY System Action: (1) Deletes the subcustody item record. (2) Creates an RFI item record or suspense item record. (3) Creates a transaction record.
This is used if the NIIN of the item being returned is different than what was originally sub-custodied. eg. The squadron brings back a sub-NIIN.
SUSPENSE PROCESSING Purpose: • Repairable Items are placed in suspense for a variety of reasons but some of the more common reasons are: • TD incorporation • Re-identify material • Protect RFI qty • Engineering Investigation • Induct item for test and check to validate RFI condition. (i.e. RFI tag lost or missing)
SUSPENSE Purpose: (3) Transfer material to suspense for: (a) TD incorporation (b) To re-identify a Supply Officer’s asset from one to another within the same FGC.
SUSPENSE System Action: (1) Decrements RFI quantity and increases suspense quantity. (2) Creates suspense item record with MA suspense management code, indicating the item is awaiting maintenance action.
VERIFY RFI BALANCES BEFORE ATTEMPTING SUSPENSE PROCESSING
This selection could be used when an inventory issue arises such as a warehouse refusal and you want to protect the RFI quantity
