2. Subject • the topic of the sentence, what it’s about. • It will centre on the noun/pronoun that the main verb goes with. • Ask yourself, “What or who is this sentence about?”

8. HINT • Always start with the action. • What is happening in this sentence? (That’s the predicate) • Who or what is doing it? (That’s the subject)

21. Complete Subjects and Predicates • The difference is that the complete subject and predicate take not only the main noun and verb, but all the words that are working with them.
