Translated Works • Muslim scholars translated works from many different cultures—Greek, Roman, Indian, etc. • These scholars PERSERVED the works of many ancient cultures (ESPECIALLY THE WORKS ON THE GREEKS AND ROMANS!!!!)
Literature • Omar Khayyam—famous poet and mathematician • Used the “quatrain”—a poem four line poem in which the first second, and fourth lines rhyme

A Thousand and One Nights • Famous book from the Abbasid time period • Includes many stories involving magic, adventure, and fantasy • Still popular today • When translated into English many things added (some racist and offensive to Arabs)
