POLYESTERROWVILLE HAWKS FOOTBALL JUMPER By Sean Smith 4JG
WHERE I WEAR MY FOOTBALL JUMPER • I wear my football jumper on the football oval on Sundays because that is when I play footy for the Rowville Hawks Under 10 team.
WHAT MY FOOTBALL JUMPER LOOKS LIKE • My football jumper has gold & brown stripes. It has the initials RJFC on the front of the jumper. • It also has EFL badge that stands for the Eastern Football League on the front. • It also has a sponsors badge. LJ Hooker gives the club money for putting the badge on the jumper. • On the back of the jumper is the No. 35. That is my number for the whole season. • Under the number is another sponsor – Stud Park Shopping Centre.
WHY I CHOSE MY FOOTBALL JUMPER • I chose my football jumper because I like playing footy. I wear brown shorts & gold socks with my jumper.
POLYESTER • My football jumper is made out of polyester. • Polyester is a man-made fabric. • Polyester is a strong fabric but it is very light to wear. • Polyester is a good fabric for clothes because it lasts for a long time. • It does not tear easily and it is easy to clean.
HOW IS POLYESTER MADE • Polyester needs to be heated to turn it into a liquid. • The liquid is put into a machine that looks like a showerhead. The liquid comes out in long fibres through the holes. • Then the polyester fibres need to cool down. • When the polyester fibres have cooled down, they need to be cut into shorter pieces. • Then the fibres are wrapped around spools. • Finally the fibres are weaved together using a loom and the material is made.
