Civil society organisation Magdalenium Established in 1997 Mission of the organisation: • Help to the victims of domestic violence • Educational activities in the field of domestic violence • Operator of the registered social service asylum shelter
Provided services: • Asylum shelter – shelter Helena established in 2001, capacity of 10 beds • Asylum shelter – Magdalenium Established in 2011, capacity of 27 beds These are shelters with secret address, the only secret housing uniquely for the victims of domestic violence.
Work with users of the asylum shelter: • First contact of the client (nonstop phone line) • Personal consultation (field work, assessment of the situation) • Accepting clients to lodge them: - Crisis check-in - Planned check-in - Postponed check-in – waiting list to be lodged
Conclusion of a Contract on social service provision(mostly 1 year according to Act No. 108/2009) • Introduction in the premises (rights and duties of the users) • Examination of the case (mapping the violence, profile of the aggressor, risks after leaving the violent relationship, family, health and social risks, financial means, hobbies…)
professional help according to the level of intensity of the danger (security plan of the user and children for the stay in the asylum shelter, rights of parents to the child, a complaint on the crime, assisted help to enter the common housing…) • key worker – individual planning and personal aims of the user • social, legal and psychological help
