2. Integrated Command and Control ICC is the NATO-wide Integrated Command and Control Software for Air Operations
NATO standard for planning, tasking, monitoring, and reporting air operations in peace, crisis, and war
Operational at NATO air Command and Control (C2) sites from Strategic Commands down to airbases*
Advanced design and implementation employs centralized relational databases, intuitive human interfaces, and standardized information output
Development will continue for the foreseeable future on both NATO-particular functions and interoperability with NATO member-nation air C2 systems
3. NATO Air C2 Training Requirements NATO Air C2 commands must be able to:
Train as they fight
Processes
Systems
Command interactions
Train in-house as their schedule allows
Support preparation for major exercises
Plan and prepare for contingency and crisis operations
Train to the maximum extent without reducing operational capability or effectiveness
4. Integrated Training Capability ITC was created by NC3A CCS/CSB to meet the Air C2 training requirements
Developed in response to ICC user inputs and training requirements
Fully integrates a modern object-orientated combat simulation based on FLAMES with ICC employing standard ICC hardware and software
Accepts orders and tasks directly from the ICC user, operates directly from the ICC database, and provides feedback to the ICC operational human interfaces
Requires very small staff for operations
5. ITC Concept
6. ITC Scope
7. FLAMES Based ITC Custom-developed models and interfaces were added to ITC using standard FLAMES development practices
8. FLAMES/ITC Training Environment Resulting system supports a complete training environment that addresses all three phases of exercise management
9. ITC/FLAMES Advantage A FLAMES-based ITC produces a full-featured system that supports the NATO Air C2 requirements
