1. Overview of the Northeast Biomanufacturing and Collaborative 2005-2007 Building a Sustainable Infrastructure for Biomanufacturing Jobs and Education

Overarching Goal The goal of the Northeast Biomanufacturing Center and Collaborative is to form a self-sustaining regional alliance of community colleges working in collaboration with industry, education, professional associations and government to prepare a 21st century technical workforce for the Biopharmaceutical Biomanufacturing sector of the Biotechnology industry.
3. Objective 1: Establish Sustainable Learning Communities Around Hubs Develop network of community colleges, high schools interested in biotechnology and four year college/university biotechnology programs (www.biomanufacturing.org/edpartners.php)
Develop articulations with different levels of education
SST and Dover HS – NHCTC – UNH , RIT, UPR (in progress)
MRHS – Middlesex CC
NMTCC and CTS – MCCC – Penn State Abbington, Thomas Jefferson U, Cabrini College
Develop biomanufacturer – community college partnerships
Lonza and Wyeth – NHCTC

Centocor, Merck and Tengion – MCCC
Hold Hub Workshops (networking/hands-on for all collaborators)
