Wrentit also known as Wren-tit ( Camaea fasciata henshawi ). A common canyon bird which lives in San Diego. Has small body Is a tannish- brown color Has a small beak Has long tail feathers Has small eyes. Appearance- Proportions. The wrentit is about 5.5 – 5.9 inches (14-15 cm)

  3. The wrentit is about 5.5 – 5.9 inches (14-15 cm) • Notice that the tail feathers make up about a third of the size. Appearance- Size

  5. The wrentit gathers foliage (plants) to make its nests • It nests in low bushes such as Poison Oak , Coyote Bush, and Californian Blackberry… Nesting Behavior

  6. Is an omnivore • Eats insects, spiders and worms • Eats nuts and berries Eating Habits

  7. Mother sits on 1-5 eggs • Eggs are light greenish- blue • Chicks are featherless when born • Have dark areas on their backs Eggs and Chicks
