BISCUITS 1 • e.g. 8 biscuits are on a plate, queue of 10 pupils – each takes 1 biscuit, there is not enough for the ninth and tenth ones – they will die of hunger • replenish 8 biscuits again and it continues but anybody else must not come Conclusion – 2 of 10 people will die of hunger (until the age of 50)
BISCUITS 2 • Number of biscuits corresponds to three quarters of number of pupils • half of group of pupils will have whole biscuit, the rest of pupils will have just only piece of biscuit Conclusion – one half of people suffer from malnutrition Empathy – understanding of hunger sensation and food deficiency

Food samples Competition: There are 15 different kinds of food on a table covered with a cloth. Each group chooses one pupil who observes presented food for 15 s. Then he comes back and says what he has seen. The winner is group with the highest number of recorded kinds of food.
