  1. Nice job kids! I have a suggest that you add another slide. I made a start for you. See slide 4. Have fun, and keep up the good work. – Dr. Knotts Blood cells Dylan Calamusa , Trey Roth, Bryce Barber and Noah Schuette

  2. Red Blood Cells Red blood cells help transport oxygen from your lungs to your mouth or nose. Red blood cells are more common than white blood cells. Red blood cells are surrounded by a cell membrane and cell wall is present. There are estimated about 25 trillion Red blood cells in every 5 liters of human blood. Mature Red blood cells don’t have nuclei while white blood cells do. Ms. Moffitt’s Class

  3. White Blood Cells There are five different types of White Blood Cells. The five types of white blood cells are Basophil, Neutrophil, Eosinophil, Lymphocyte, and Monocyte. Even though there are five types of White Blood cells the Lymphocyte is a large deep nucleus surrounded by a thin ring of cytoplasm. White Blood Cells help fight infection within a body. Ms. Mofffitt’s Class

  4. How big are blood cells? I suggest that you add this slide to your presentation. Carefully study the pictures and use them to estimate the size of different blood cells. Then list your results on this slide. For example, the big neutrophil in the center is about 0.01 mm across. The red blood cells are smaller. Can you estimate? The tiny platelets (small purple dots) are only about 0.001 mm across. 0.01 mm Blood smear at 1000X (Wright’s stain). Photo by Michael E. Knotts Stage micrometer at 1000X. Ticks are 0.01 mm apart. 5. Lesson review quiz Q1: What type of blood cells are most common? Red blood cells Q2: Name one type of white blood cell? basophil Q3: How many types of white blood cells are there and what are they?
