Languages at 2003 World Games • 6 official languages • English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin Chinese • 52 languages to cover 160 delegations
Technology Numbers • 600 Games PC’s • 48 Site WAN • 248 of 270 Volunteers Recruited • 7 Networking \ Applications Staff

Standardisation : Standardisation process worked well in 2002 5 Site types for this year 8 sites are considered exceptions and have been designed individually
Network Overview - WAN Connectivity will be by : Eircom BIP connection to hub sites at most venues Backup via leased line or ISDN to hub sites
Eircom BIP? Eircom BIP is an MPLS/IP VPN network. All connections are to the “cloud” We then connect hub sites to the cloud via high speed lines
Network Overview - LAN Standard sites: Standard sites will have simple single switch LANs Non Standard sites: A variety of technologies will be used including ADSL, LRE, Coax, Fibre.
Network Overview - Backups Most sites will have backup capacity of at least 50% Traffic shaping will be used to ensure that in failover situation critical traffic gets through. Hot DR site for loss of Park House
