  1. The Importance of Maintaining Your Pavers! Weston, Florida - April 4, 2016 – (Broward Pavers) - Whether its a Driveway, walkway or patio, or your pool deck, your pavers have to be well maintained time and again to keep them looking as beautiful as the day they were installed! Make sure you do a thorough inspection especially for the sagging areas where water gets collected and pool thoroughly. As these areas are often caused by water, either from a hose or rain, washing earth, foundation material and sand into a hollow space below the paver foundation. These sagging areas often widen quickly therefore, its important for the hollow to be filled and stabilized before leveling the pavers, otherwise this same task will go on year after year. Fixing such a situation can be really tricky! Firstly, remove the sagging pavers, locate the gap and fill it with a foundation material. Next up, you’ll want to pack the foundation material to within 1 or 2 inches of the bottom of the existing pavers. Fill the remaining 2 inches with sand and tamp it level with the bottom of the existing pavers and replace them with new pavers. After fixing the existing sagging areas, look for individual pavers that are higher or lower than the surrounding pavers. As a paver that seems higher can often be leveled by using a rubber mallet to force it into its proper position. If it's too high or doesn’t move, you may have to remove it so you can remove some of the sand that’s below the paver. If it sits low, you’ll have to remove it to add sand until its leveled!
